U-Haul Drives into a Crowd of Protesters in Westwood
A U-Haul truck crashed into a group of protesters in Westwood on Sunday during a demonstration advocating for the Iranian people.
The protest saw hundreds of participants expressing solidarity with those demonstrating in Iran, where recent governmental crackdowns have reportedly resulted in over 500 deaths amidst growing discontent due to economic issues. According to the U.S.-based Human Rights Activists News Agency, at least 583 individuals have lost their lives since unrest began two weeks ago.
Organized by activists in the Westwood area, the demonstration aimed to raise awareness and support for those affected by the violence in Iran. While law enforcement has yet to identify the driver of the U-Haul, there have been no confirmed reports of injuries resulting from the incident.
