Tyra Banks recently revealed the 90s trend she would love to see make a comeback. Speaking to PEOPLE at the world premiere of Cirque Du Soleil LUDÕ, the former supermodel shared her nostalgia for a particular style from that era.
“I love the 90s,” she said. “If I could bring back a 90s trend … [I’d] love those tight necklaces, and they had … a little handle on them, and we made them with black string. Like a black ribbon.”

“So simple, so cheap. Please come back. Make it happen,” she added with a laugh.
In addition to her fashion preferences, Banks also discussed the success of her new dessert product, hot ice cream. Launched in September through her brand, Smize & Dream, this novelty item is described as a warm, sippable dessert-drink hybrid, typically topped with whipped cream and nuts. The hot ice cream debuted at Smize & Dream’s flagship store in Sydney, Australia, quickly becoming a sensation on social media.
Banks referred to the unexpected viral success of the product as “insane.”
“I never in a million years thought it would be viral. I never in a million years thought I would be in … Mexico and at a Cirque Du Soleil opening and being asked about it. So it’s beyond my expectations, and now I have to live up to it,” she remarked.
She elaborated on why she believes the product has resonated so strongly with the public. “I realized that when I named it hot ice cream, that it’s like playing on opposite — hot, cold, frozen, heat. So it just boggles people’s minds,” she said, adding, “It’s pretty amazing.”
Banks also introduced a character named “Santa Smize,” designed to help promote her hot ice cream concept. “She looks exactly like me,” Banks explained, noting the character’s own struggles with the idea of hot versus cold ice cream. “You’re gonna be seeing a lot of her — especially next Christmas — because she is also going viral. ‘Cause she is in pain.”
When asked about her plans for the upcoming holidays, Banks shared they would include both family time and work obligations. “For me, [the] holidays look like hot ice cream and my hot, crazy family,” she joked. “So we’re gonna work and live and be by the tree, but then have to go and sell some hot ice cream all at the same time.”
