Tyler Hilton, known for his role on One Tree Hill, recently reminded fans of his past collaboration with Taylor Swift when he shared a video on Instagram. The post features a clip from Swift’s music video "Teardrops on My Guitar," with Hilton reflecting on the importance of seizing opportunities in life.
In the Instagram reel, set to Fleetwood Mac’s "Silver Springs," Hilton, 42, wrote, “In your 20s Taylor Swift will ask you to play a part in one of her music videos…. it’s very important you play that part.” He humorously added, "An OG Swiftie over here in case anyone was wondering," along with hashtags related to the video.
Hilton’s career began in music before he was solidified as a fan favorite on One Tree Hill in 2004. He previously spoke about discovering Swift’s music, recalling that her 2006 single "Tim McGraw" had a profound impact on him. “I’m not embarrassed to say I was blown away by that song,” he stated, highlighting its simple yet earnest lyrics.
The connection between Hilton and Swift deepened when he endorsed her in an interview, prompting her team to reach out. “I didn’t know this, but she was a huge fan of mine,” he shared. This led to a performance invitation at a concert in California, which he described as an unexpectedly intimate event with around 200 attendees at a small bar.
During that performance, Swift offered him a role in her music video, prompting Hilton to make the trip to Nashville to star as Drew in "Teardrops on My Guitar."

Hilton also noted that his relationship with Swift and her family continued beyond the music video. He briefly lived on their houseboat when he moved to Nashville. “Her dad really helped me get settled out there,” he explained, emphasizing the support he received from the Swift family during that time.
