Tyler Higbee Signs Two-Year Contract with the Rams
Tyler Higbee Re-signs with Rams on Two-Year Deal
Tight end Tyler Higbee has officially re-signed with the Los Angeles Rams, agreeing to a two-year contract worth $8 million, according to multiple reports. This move secures the longest-tenured player on the Rams’ roster as the team prepares for the upcoming free agency period.
Higbee, who caught 25 passes for 281 yards and three touchdowns over ten games last season, faced challenges due to an ankle injury that limited him to eight starts. Nevertheless, he played a crucial role in a tight-end group that emerged as a secondary receiving threat alongside teammates Puka Nacua and Davante Adams.
Having joined the Rams as a draft pick in 2016, Higbee has accumulated impressive career stats, with 386 receptions for 3,949 yards and 27 touchdowns across 138 games. His performance was hampered in 2024 when he sustained a torn anterior cruciate ligament late in the 2023 season.
The announcement of Higbee’s re-signing coincides with reports indicating that the Rams are finalizing a trade to acquire All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie from the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for four draft picks.
With the free-agent negotiation period set to begin Monday at 9 a.m. PDT, the Rams will need to address the futures of several key players, including Kamren Curl, Jimmy Garoppolo, D.J. Humphries, Akkello Witherspoon, and Cobie Durant. The team’s immediate priorities will focus on bolstering their secondary and finding additional receiving options to complement their offensive lineup.
