Tyler Bilodeau Scores 18 Points in Bruins’ Win Over Short-Handed Ducks
EUGENE, Ore. — UCLA secured a decisive 73-57 victory over a depleted Oregon team on Wednesday night, marking the Ducks’ seventh consecutive loss. Tyler Bilodeau led the Bruins with 18 points, while Eric Daily Jr. recorded his second double-double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Donovan Dent added 15 points for UCLA, with 11 of those coming in a strong second half. Trent Perry contributed 12 points after a slow start, going scoreless in the first half on 0-for-5 shooting. This win brings UCLA’s record to 15-6 overall and 7-3 within the Big Ten, as they have won three straight games and five of their last six.
For the Ducks, Kwame Evans Jr. stood out with a strong performance, scoring 24 points, including four three-pointers, and grabbing nine rebounds. However, Oregon, which now holds a record of 8-13 and 1-9 in conference play, was missing key players due to injuries. Nate Bittle, Jackson Shelstad, and Takai Simpkins—who rank first, second, and fourth in team scoring—did not participate in the game.
Evans initiated the scoring with a layup just 10 seconds in, but UCLA quickly took control, launching an 8-0 run for a lead they would not relinquish. Bilodeau’s seven points in a subsequent 13-2 run helped extend UCLA’s advantage to 26-13 with 7:08 remaining in the first half.
Oregon struggled offensively, shooting just 25% from the field and 24% from beyond the arc in the opening half, as they began the game with a dismal 1-of-11 shooting performance.
UCLA also excelled at the free-throw line, hitting 20 of 23 attempts, compared to Oregon’s 6 of 9. Daily’s alley-oop dunk pushed UCLA’s lead to 44-24 with 16:46 left in the game, but the Ducks attempted to rally with a 12-2 run, spearheaded by Evans, narrowing the margin to 10 points before failing to close the gap further.
The victory marks UCLA’s fourth consecutive win in the series, improving their all-time record against Oregon to 98-42.
