Two Arrested in Carson for Operating Unlicensed Elder Care Homes
Major Raid Targets Unlicensed Elder Care Homes in Carson
CARSON, Calif. – Authorities have arrested two suspects accused of operating unlicensed elder care and hospice facilities in Carson, according to a report confirmed by FOX News.
Investigators coordinated a significant raid involving the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and federal agencies. In the operation, seven elderly patients were rescued from four different homes, where they were found to be suffering from severe malnutrition, neglect, and denial of essential medical treatment.
Sources indicate that staff members at these facilities were not licensed medical professionals but impostors lacking the necessary training and credentials.
While the identities of the two suspects remain undisclosed, the timeline of how long these unlicensed facilities operated is still unclear. It is also unknown how many additional patients may have been affected prior to the raid. The specific charges the suspects will face have not yet been announced.
Moving forward, the four hospitalized patients will receive medical evaluations and care, while the remaining three residents will be relocated to licensed care facilities. The District Attorney’s office plans to assess the case for formal charges once the Sheriff’s Department and federal investigators conclude their examination of the properties involved.
