Multiple People Stabbed Following Dispute Over Restaurant Bill in Downtown LA
LOS ANGELES – Several individuals are in recovery after a violent altercation occurred at a downtown Los Angeles restaurant, stemming from a disagreement over the bill, authorities reported.
The incident took place around 4:40 PM on Sunday, March 22, at Zaya Restaurant, located in the 500 block of West Seventh Street. Witnesses indicated that the conflict erupted when servers presented the bill to a private party. An argument ensued among the all-female group, escalating when one woman wielded a knife and another grabbed a bottle.
As the situation intensified, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene. Fire officials later confirmed that five women were treated for injuries. Four of the victims, aged between 26 and 37, received care at the scene, while a fifth victim, who sustained facial cuts, opted out of medical transport and left independently.
Authorities have since arrested two suspects, both of whom are facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
While the investigation continues, it remains unclear whether the restaurant ultimately received payment for the bill. Additionally, the identities of both the victims and the suspects have yet to be disclosed.
