Trump Promises Severe Consequences for Nancy Guthrie Kidnappers If She’s Not Safely Returned
Trump Threatens Severe Federal Consequences for Kidnappers of Nancy Guthrie
President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning about "very, very severe — the most severe" federal consequences for those responsible for the abduction of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today co-host Savannah Guthrie. His remarks were made in a phone interview with the New York Post, published on Monday.
When questioned about whether he was referring to the death penalty, Trump affirmed, stating, “The most, yeah — that’s true.”
Nancy Guthrie was last seen on the evening of January 31, when she was dropped off at her home in Tucson, Arizona. She was reported missing around noon the following day. On February 4, Trump reached out to Savannah Guthrie to offer federal assistance in the ongoing investigation.
As the search for Nancy Guthrie enters its third week, the FBI is currently awaiting DNA results from a glove found near her home that may match a suspect seen in recently released surveillance footage. Investigators have gathered over a dozen gloves from a nearby roadside field, most of which were inadvertently discarded by search teams in the area.
Savannah Guthrie recently shared an emotional video on social media, expressing hope for her mother’s safe return. "We still have hope, and we still believe," she stated. "To whoever has her, or knows where she is, it’s never too late, and you’re not lost or alone. It is never too late to do the right thing, and we are here. We believe, and we believe in the essential goodness of every human being."
