Tragic Hit-and-Run Accident Claims Life of Woman in Panorama City

Early Friday morning, a 40-year-old woman was tragically killed after being struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of The Plant Shopping Center in Panorama City. The incident occurred at approximately 4:55 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Authorities report that the driver of an unidentified vehicle, entering the shopping center from Van Nuys Boulevard, hit the woman and subsequently fled the scene, continuing eastbound through the lot. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics arrived shortly after and pronounced her dead at the location.

The victim’s name has not been released as officials await notification of her family. In an effort to gather information, police are offering a reward of up to $50,000 for details leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the driver involved.
