Fatal Collision on Riverside Freeway Claims One Life
A deadly vehicle collision on the Riverside (215) Freeway resulted in one fatality early Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Officers arrived at the scene near Central Avenue around 12:20 a.m. and discovered the victim in the number one lane of the southbound freeway, a CHP spokesman reported. The identity, age, and gender of the victim have not yet been released.
In the immediate aftermath of the incident, all southbound lanes were closed to facilitate the investigation and clean-up. The closure persisted for several hours as freeway sweepers worked to remove debris from the roadway.
By late Wednesday morning, traffic resumed as all lanes were reopened. The CHP continues to investigate the crash to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
