Tokischa Goes Bold: Shaves Her Head Live on Stage at Madison Square Garden
Trending on Billboard
Dominican artist Tokischa made headlines on Saturday, March 21, by shaving her head during a performance at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The artist, who has yet to release her debut album, has already made a significant impact on the Hot Latin Songs chart, both as a lead artist and collaborator. Just days before her head-shaving moment, on March 19, she released a new single titled “Surfboard.” This hair transformation took place during her opening set for FKA Twigs’ 2026 Body High Tour, where she is performing on the second night of a six-show engagement. Brutalismus 3000 and Eartheater will accompany her for the remaining U.S. dates of the tour.
Billboard documented Tokischa’s striking moment at Madison Square Garden on video.
Tokischa’s upcoming album, titled Amor & Droga, does not yet have a confirmed release date.
In an interview with Billboard last August, she shared, “This album really tells a very special story for me, a very difficult time in my life that shaped me and brought me to where I am now. It’s like a diary where I recount certain experiences that I’ve never talked about before. I feel like this was the best concept for a debut album — where I can let it all out.”
Her latest single “Surfboard,” produced by Skrillex, is expected to feature on Amor & Droga. This week, she released a music video for the track, having previously debuted it live earlier this month. Fans on FKA Twigs’ tour were among the first to hear the song performed in concert.
