LA28 Olympic Ticket Notification Emails to Begin
LOS ANGELES – The first wave of email notifications for ticket purchases to the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles will be sent out on Tuesday, March 31. This marks the start of ticket availability for the highly anticipated event.
Beginning today, notifications will be distributed over a rolling basis until April 4, specifically targeting residents of Los Angeles and Oklahoma City. Local sales will commence on April 2, followed by notifications for the general public’s "Drop 1" on April 7 and official sales on April 9. Fans will be limited to a total of 12 Olympic tickets, including a maximum of four tickets per ceremony; however, tickets for the soccer tournament do not count against this limit.
Olympic officials have reported that 5 million fans have registered for tickets. A selected group will be able to participate in the presale, which will allow them to purchase tickets for various sports along with the opening and closing ceremonies.
Key Dates:
- March 31-April 4: Local residents of Los Angeles and Oklahoma City will receive presale notifications via email.
- April 2: Tickets go on sale for eligible local residents.
- April 7: Notification emails for "Drop 1" are sent to randomly selected fans globally.
- April 9: General public ticket sales commence with "Drop 1."
Residents need a payment method linked to a billing address within specific qualifying counties to access local presale tickets:
- California: Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura.
- Oklahoma: Oklahoma, Cleveland, and Canadian.
Each fan will receive a designated 48-hour window for ticket purchase and a 30-minute window to finalize their order once items are added to their cart. Olympic and Paralympic tickets will be categorized, with specific seat assignments issued closer to the event.
Notably, single-game tickets for the Olympics and Paralympics are expected to start at $28. Officials advise fans to avoid third-party resale websites, as a verified resale program will not be available until 2027.
The Olympic Games are set to take place from July 14 to July 30, 2028, while the Paralympic Games will occur from August 15 to August 27, 2028.
