The Surprising Impact of Invisible Thongs on Red Carpet Fashion
Stringys Invisible Thongs Become Red Carpet Sensation
Stars are increasingly turning to innovative undergarments as the trend of sheer, revealing dresses takes hold on red carpets. Central to this shift is Stringys, a brand known for its nearly invisible thongs that promise to remain discreet even under the most transparent outfits.
Olivia Karina, a model and co-founder of Stringys alongside personal trainer Elvira Troger, shared insights into the creation of their product. “It looks like the smallest little thing, but it took us about two and a half years to perfect this product because it’s so extremely difficult to make,” she noted.
Initially born out of a need to avoid panty lines while working, the founders quickly realized that their design could provide a solution for many—especially after celebrities like Simone Biles and Megan Fox donned their revealing creation. Karina recalled that Fox wore the thongs for the cover of Sports Illustrated, explaining, “They Photoshopped her naked, but she had to have something on set.”
The brand recently made its television debut on Shark Tank, where investor Barbara Corcoran saw potential and made an investment. Since then, stylists for top stars, including Dani Michelle who works with Hailey Bieber, have incorporated Stringys into their essential kits.
Karina and Troger recounted the urgency of a request they received when Bieber and Kendall Jenner were preparing for a trip, illustrating the increasing demand for their product. At the 2026 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, stars like Bella Hadid and Alessandra Ambrosio showcased Stringys, solidifying the thongs’ status as red carpet staples.
Doja Cat has emerged as one of the brand’s most enthusiastic supporters, often wearing Stringys with bold outfits. Troger remarked on Cat’s dedication, stating, “She’s obsessed with Stringys,” an enthusiasm echoed by Karina during a memorable performance at Coachella where the thongs proved their comfort and reliability.
As the brand continues to gain traction among celebrities, the founders emphasize that their innovation is not only for the elite. “What started as red carpet and models… we realized you need it all the time,” Karina commented, highlighting its practicality for everyday wear. They humorously remarked on the widespread appeal, saying, “What other brand is every single person wearing where we could literally touch everyone’s butts at every awards show?”
Stringys has quickly positioned itself at the intersection of high fashion and functionality, proving that even the most daring styles can be worn with confidence.
