The Pitt Welcomes Four New Cast Members for Season 2
EXCLUSIVE: HBO Max’s acclaimed medical drama The Pitt has expanded its Season 2 cast with the addition of four recurring guest stars: Brittany Allen (The Boys, Dexter: Original Sin), Bonita Friedericy (A Friend of the Family, Chicago Med), Taylor Handley (Mayor of Kingstown, Griselda), and Jeff Kober (The Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy).
The series, led by Noah Wyle and produced by him, returns for its second season in January, set ten months after the Season 1 finale during Fourth of July weekend.
Created by R. Scott Gemmill and produced by John Wells, The Pitt depicts the pressing challenges faced by U.S. frontline healthcare professionals at the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center’s emergency department. The series employs a real-time format to follow, hour by hour, the medical cases and personal crises experienced by physicians and nurses as they grapple with a surge of patients and limited resources.
The roles of the new cast members have been detailed as follows: Allen will portray Roxie Hamler, an Emergency Department patient; Friedericy will take on the role of Cora Wilkins, a woman visiting a patient in the Emergency Department; Handley will play Paul Hamler, the husband of an Emergency Department patient; and Kober will portray Duke, a motorcycle engineer with ties to one of the doctors.
In addition to Wyle, the cast features Katherine LaNasa, Shawn Hatosy, Taylor Dearden, Patrick Ball, Isa Briones, Fiona Dourif, Supriya Ganesh, Shabana Azeez, and Gerran Howell. Notable newcomers for Season 2 include Sepideh Moafi as a series regular, alongside Charles Baker, Irene Choi, Laëtitia Hollard, Lucas Iverson, and Lawrence Robinson in recurring roles.
The series is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, under an overall deal. Gemmill serves as executive producer alongside Wells, Wyle, Erin Jontow from JWP, Simran Baidwan, Joe Sachs, and Michael Hissrich.
