The New Trailer for ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ Includes an Exciting Original Song by Lady Gaga and Doechii, Along with Insight into the Plot
The final trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2 has been released, featuring an original song titled “Runway” performed by Lady Gaga and Doechii. The trailer is available for viewing online.
This sneak peek hints at essential plot developments in the sequel to the beloved 2006 film, which starred Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. In the trailer, Hathaway’s character, Andy Sachs, is seen walking alongside a new character portrayed by Simone Ashley, who appears to be Miranda Priestly’s new assistant at Runway magazine.
“I used to have your job,” Andy tells Ashley’s character, recalling her experiences attending Paris Fashion Week and wearing pieces from that year’s Chanel collection.
Ashley’s character expresses surprise that Andy didn’t retain any of those iconic Chanel outfits as she leads Andy to her new office as the magazine’s latest features editor, echoing the title of the song by Gaga and Doechii.
According to Miranda, the upcoming storyline will focus on Andy’s role in addressing the magazine’s current crisis, as reports have led to a decline in stock prices and increased scrutiny of Priestly and Runway.
“I’m going to make something of this job,” Andy affirms during a dinner conversation, where a character played by Rachel Bloom suggests she write “the definitive Miranda Priestly exposé.”
While Kenneth Branagh’s role as Priestly’s husband has yet to be confirmed, Stanley Tucci’s character, Nigel, is seen collecting clothing for Andy—albeit avoiding a specific Terra Cotta two-piece due to her complexion. Emily Blunt’s character, Emily, has adopted a new philosophy: “May the bridges I burn light my way.”
The trailer also introduces additional cast members, including Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, Patrick Brammall, and Lady Gaga.
Character posters showcasing the original cast—Hathaway, Tucci, Streep, and Blunt—have also been unveiled, adding to the growing anticipation for the film’s theatrical release on May 1.
