The Kelly Clarkson Show Concludes Its 7-Season Journey
NBCUniversal has announced that its daytime talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, will conclude after its current seventh season. The decision, communicated to the show’s staff and crew, puts an end to months of speculation surrounding its future.
Kelly Clarkson, whose contract was believed to expire at the end of Season 7, confirmed her decision to step away from hosting the show. This announcement follows a challenging year for Clarkson, who took a leave of absence last spring to care for her children while their father received cancer treatment. He passed away in August.
“Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives,” Clarkson said in a statement.

Despite earlier rumors that NBCUniversal might seek to continue The Kelly Clarkson Show with a different host, the network has confirmed that the show will end. Production on the current season will proceed as planned, with Clarkson hosting and some episodes featuring guest hosts. New episodes will air through Fall 2026.
Clarkson expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to work with her team, stating, “I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at The Kelly Clarkson Show, both in Los Angeles and New York. There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons. I am forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew you could hope for… This isn’t goodbye. I’ll still be making music… but for now, I want to thank y’all so much for allowing our show to be a part of your lives.”
The Kelly Clarkson Show originated from Clarkson’s role as a coach on NBC’s The Voice, leading to her involvement with NBCUniversal.
The show’s conclusion marks a significant loss for daytime syndication. The Kelly Clarkson Show had been one of the few prominent entries in a declining genre, amidst challenges in delivering traditional talk shows often considered unsustainable due to their high production costs.
“The Kelly Clarkson Show has been an extraordinary collaboration,” remarked Tracie Wilson, EVP of Syndication Studios. “Her warmth, quick sense of humor, and connection with people created a show that made fans feel seen and heard.”
Since its debut in 2019, The Kelly Clarkson Show has consistently ranked among the top daytime programs. It boasts over 2 billion annual views across various social media platforms and has gained 6.5 million new followers, largely due to the viral success of Clarkson’s Kellyoke segment.
“The Kelly Clarkson Show has been a valued part of our NBC-owned stations’ lineup for seven seasons,” said Valari Staab, Chairman of NBCUniversal Local. “We thank Kelly and the production team for the wonderful show they’ve produced, and we look forward to the remainder of this season.”
The Kelly Clarkson Show has garnered 24 Daytime Emmy Awards, including four consecutive wins for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series and Outstanding Talk Show Host. It is produced by Universal Television and distributed by NBCUniversal Syndication Studios, airing in over 200 markets across the U.S. Alex Duda serves as executive producer and showrunner.
