The Executive Producer of ‘The Head’ Leaves Telem at The Mediapro Studio
Ran Telem Exits The Mediapro Studio After Nine Years
Ran Telem has announced his departure from The Mediapro Studio, where he served as the Head of International Development. His exit comes after nine years with the studio and a total of six years with Mediapro, the Spain-based international production company.
Telem’s resignation follows a series of high-profile departures within the organization. Recently, General Manager Laura Fernández Espeso and Daniel Burman, who has taken on the role of Head of Original Content for Disney+ Latin America, also left the company. With Carlos Núñez as CEO and Sergio Oslé as President steering Mediapro, the company is reportedly facing significant restructuring, including potential layoffs affecting 250 employees in Barcelona and Madrid.
In a LinkedIn post, Telem reflected on his time at Mediapro, stating, “After nine years, I’m closing this chapter at Mediapro. It’s been an inspiring journey, it’s time to take the next one. I’m ready for new partners. New challenges.”
During his tenure, Telem was instrumental in bringing to life several international projects, including the English-language thriller series The Head, co-produced for Hulu Japan and HBO Asia.
He emphasized the breadth of his experience at Mediapro, noting, “Over the past nine years at Mediapro, I’ve had the privilege of developing and producing international scripted and unscripted content across platforms, genres, and cultures.” His diverse work spanned various projects, from English-language thrillers to Chilean reality shows, collaborating with major networks such as HBO, Hulu, Netflix, Canal+, Viaplay, and TVE.
