Taylor Swift delivered a poignant private performance for her family, featured in her docuseries The End of an Era. In the sixth episode, she shares her “weird jitters” prior to the last show of her Eras Tour, as she sits at her keyboard backstage to play a mashup of two cherished tracks.
“This is one that you requested, this mashup,” Taylor, 36, said to her mother Andrea Swift before transitioning into her 2010 song “Never Grow Up.”

As she plays, Andrea asks if Taylor will perform it “tonight,” to which Taylor responds, “I think so.” The emotional exchange leads Andrea, 67, to exclaim, “Oh, now I’m gonna cry again.”
After a few verses, Taylor seamlessly transitions into her 2008 song “The Best Day,” prompting tears from her mother. “You can’t do this to me,” Andrea says through her emotions, with Taylor replying, “I can’t f—ing do it either, dude.”
As Taylor prepares to record the song, her brother, Austin Swift, embraces their mother, while their father, Scott Swift, enters the room. “That wrecked me,” Andrea admits.
Taylor, laughing, expresses her need to record the song and talk through her feelings, saying, “That’s a very upsetting situation.” Austin describes the mashup as “tough” but “cool.”
As the camera shifts to Scott, 73, and Austin, 33, Taylor begins singing, “I have an excellent father / His strength is making me stronger / God smiles on my little brother / Inside and out he’s better than I am.”
Upon finishing the song, Scott remarks that tickets to Taylor’s Eras Tour “should come with a warning,” praising the mashup as “amazing.” Taylor laughs, responding, “They really should. They should just be printed on tissues. That’s ridiculous.”
The final two episodes of The End of an Era are currently available for streaming on Disney+.
