Taylor Bloom Cast in NBC’s Exciting New Drama Pilot ‘Protection’
Taylor Bloom Joins NBC Drama Pilot ‘Protection’
NBC’s upcoming drama pilot, Protection, has announced the casting of Taylor Bloom. The project, overseen by creator and executive producer Josh Safran, known for his work on Quantico and Gossip Girl, promises to deliver a gripping narrative centered around law enforcement.
Protection follows a U.S. Marshal who, after falling in the line of duty, uncovers a conspiracy that places a family of law enforcement agents under threat from a mysterious assassin. As the Thornhill family navigates personal conflicts and professional dilemmas, they must rely on their years of experience to protect one another and seek justice, even if it means flouting their sworn duties.
In the series, Bloom will portray Russ Thornhill, a former Marine employed at the Department of Justice. Described as idealistic and trusting, Russ firmly believes in the inherent goodness of people.
He joins an ensemble cast that includes Peter Krause as Mike Thornhill, Hope Davis as Joan, a federally appointed U.S. Marshal, Tommy O’Brien as Secret Service agent Micah Thornhill, and Kat Cunning as Clare Thornhill, an aspiring profiler.
The production is backed by Safran, alongside Jenna Bush Hager and her producing partner Ben Spector under a first-look deal with Universal Studio Group, which is the studio responsible for the project.
Bloom is no stranger to the screen, having recently appeared as Stewart Bowers in Season 11 of American Horror Story and on Netflix’s The Vince Staples Show. In theatre, he portrayed Paul Simon in The Simon & Garfunkel Story at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C. He is represented by Buchwald and Authentic Talent and Literary Management.
