Talamasca: The Secret Order Won’t Be Returning to AMC
AMC has confirmed that it will not be moving forward with a second season of Talamasca: The Secret Order, a series centered on a clandestine society tasked with monitoring witches, vampires, and other supernatural beings globally.
The series starred Nicholas Denton, with notable performances from Elizabeth McGovern, William Fichtner, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, and Celine Buckens. Jason Schwartzman appeared as a guest star, while Eric Bogosian and Justin Kirk reprised their roles from AMC’s Interview with the Vampire, linking the two series through shared characters.
In a statement released Friday afternoon, AMC expressed its pride in the series: “While we are not proceeding with another season of Talamasca: The Secret Order, we are proud of the series and grateful for the efforts of everyone involved. The Talamasca has a storied place within the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, and we expect to see at least some of these characters, and the organization itself, in future expressions of the franchise.”
Upcoming Season Insights
The upcoming season of Interview with the Vampire will feature a rock and roll theme, following the Vampire Lestat, portrayed by Sam Reid, as he embarks on an electrifying multi-city tour. However, he is haunted by “muses” from his tumultuous past. As Lestat’s band gains fame, so does his influence over both vampires and humans, creating challenges in light of the Great Conversion—a significant increase in the vampire population.
Variety was the first to report the cancellation of Talamasca: The Secret Order.
