Nearly two decades after Taemin made his debut with SHINee, the K-pop icon has achieved yet another significant milestone in his groundbreaking career.
Billboard has revealed that the Grammy Museum will host the exhibit “TAEMIN: Performer. Artist. Icon.” starting April 1, 2026. This exhibit will honor the singer-songwriter-dancer’s contributions to music and art, making him the first K-pop solo artist to receive this distinction from the Los Angeles facility.

Running through May 25, 2026, the exhibit will provide fans and visitors with an in-depth look into Taemin’s celebrated stage presence. Featured will be two iconic performance outfits: the striking red-and-black ensemble from his Ephemeral Gaze World Tour and the all-white costume worn during his Veil concert and live appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show in 2025. The display will also include Taemin’s customized in-ear monitors, a white stage microphone, his official lightstick, and a personally written note addressed to his fans.

“Each performance is a story I share with my fans,” Taemin expressed in a statement. “These outfits and artifacts hold memories of those moments on stage. I hope visitors can feel the passion and love for music that has guided my journey. I’m truly honored to have my stage outfits displayed at the Grammy Museum.”
Taemin’s journey began in 2008, when a 14-year-old Lee Taemin debuted as part of SM Entertainment’s vocal ensemble SHINee. He quickly made a name for himself as an extraordinary singer and dancer. SHINee became one of the first K-pop groups to gain traction on the Billboard charts, with their single “Lucifer” reaching No. 3 on the World Digital Song Sales chart, a groundbreaking achievement for Korean artists at the time. The group has since contributed 36 entries to the chart, including 23 Top 10 hits, and accrued a dozen entries on the World Albums chart, two of which reached No. 1.
Taemin launched his solo career in 2014 with the EP Ace, which marked the first of seven solo entries on the World Albums chart. He has also secured 15 hits on World Digital Song Sales, with last year’s “Veil” climbing to No. 3, mirroring his previous career high with “Press Your Number” from 2016. Taemin is also a member of the renowned K-pop group SuperM, which made its mark by debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
“Taemin is a truly influential artist whose impact extends far beyond the stage,” said Kelsey Goelz, curator at the Grammy Museum. “His distinctive performances, innovative style, and artistic vision have helped shape the global rise of K-pop. We’re honored to showcase these iconic stage outfits and artifacts that celebrate his artistry and cultural impact.”
After completing his Ephemeral Gaze World Tour last year, which included sold-out performances in the U.S., Latin America, and Europe, Taemin began 2026 with a sold-out concert at Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas. He has since signed with Galaxy Corporation, the same agency that represents fellow K-pop icon G-Dragon. This follows his planned performance at Coachella 2026, marking his debut at a major U.S. festival.
Tickets for “TAEMIN: Performer. Artist. Icon.” are currently available through the Grammy Museum.
