Sydney Sweeney has firmly addressed plastic surgery rumors during a recent interview, delivering a clear message to those scrutinizing her appearance over the years.
In a conversation with her The Housemaid co-star Amanda Seyfried for Allure, Sweeney, 28, chose to debunk the rumor that she has had cosmetic work done. “Let’s debunk them all. I mean, I have never gotten work done,” Sweeney asserted in the video, adding, “I am so scared of needles, you have no idea.”
The Euphoria star, who began acting as a child, directed her comments to social media users who often juxtapose images of her younger self with her more recent photos. “You cannot compare a photo of me from when I was 12 to a photo of me at 26 with professional makeup and lighting! Of course I’m going to look different,” she emphasized, further remarking that “everybody on social media’s insane.”

Seyfried, 40, commented on the effectiveness of some cosmetic procedures for aging individuals. “When you do—,” she began, but Sweeney promptly interjected her promise: “I’ll call you.”

The discussion surrounding cosmetic procedures concluded with Sweeney echoing Seyfried’s sentiment that she does not currently “need” any enhancements. She quipped, “No, also if I did, you guys, my face would be even.”
Upon hearing this, a puzzled Seyfried asked, “Not necessarily. What do you mean, ‘even?’ Is it uneven?” Sweeney explained that a childhood wakeboarding accident left one of her eyes opening slightly different than the other, resulting in a need for 19 stitches.

Seyfried acknowledged Sweeney’s point, stating, “I still don’t see it, but there’s an art to it,” referring to the skill involved in cosmetic procedures. “You can’t just get it everywhere, like a lot of people do.”
Earlier this fall, Sweeney opened up to Variety about facing criticism regarding her appearance since her teenage years. In a candid discussion, she revealed her intention to avoid cosmetic procedures in the future, expressing, “I have very strong eyebrow muscles,” and shared a moment from her past when someone advised her to get Botox at age 16.
“I’ve never gotten anything done. I’m absolutely terrified of needles. No tattoos. Nothing. I’m going to age gracefully,” Sweeney declared, reiterating her commitment to authenticity.
