Sydney Sweeney Showcases Winter Fashion in American Eagle Jeans Following Ad Controversy
Sydney Sweeney is making a fashion statement this winter in her preferred denim, sharing new images from her recent getaway. The 28-year-old actress, known for her role in Euphoria, took to Instagram on January 7 to flaunt a series of stylish outfits, including a pair of her favorite American Eagle (AE) jeans.
“Some fave winter fits from my trip ft @americaneagle #aepartner #aejeans,” she wrote in her post.
In her first photo, Sweeney captured a selfie featuring a fitted dark-wash jean paired with a cream-colored sherpa sweater. She accessorized with a long scarf, fluffy earmuffs, and nude square sunglasses, rounded off with knit gloves and tall, fuzzy shearling boots.

Sweeney also shared a charming photo with Santa, dressed in a pink puffer jacket and a patterned scarf against a colorful sky backdrop. Another image showcased her in a white cinched jacket, black leggings, and knee-high socks in front of a tall Christmas tree.
The official Instagram account for Megève, a ski resort in the French Alps, expressed gratitude for her visit, commenting, “Thank you for your visit! Hope you enjoyed our WinterWonderland.”

Sweeney’s denim choice comes months after she faced significant backlash for a July 23 ad campaign featuring the tagline “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans,” which many argued contained controversial implications regarding race and beauty standards.
A source told Us Weekly in August 2025 that Sweeney believes the reaction was exaggerated. “She’s focusing her energy on work, including being back on set with her Euphoria family,” the source stated.
In a subsequent interview for GQ‘s cover story, Sweeney noted, “I did a jean ad. I mean, the reaction definitely was a surprise, but I love jeans. All I wear are jeans. I knew at the end of the day what that ad was for, and it was great jeans; it didn’t affect me one way or the other.”
Sweeney brushed aside the criticism and continues to prioritize her career, recently making headlines for posing nude in gold body paint for W Magazine. Her latest winter fashion photos include a cream double-breasted coat, lace-up shearling-lined boots, and a black puffer jacket accessorized with a beanie and a Dior scarf.
