Sydney Sweeney May Face Legal Issues After Hollywood Sign Incident
Sydney Sweeney Faces Legal Issues After Hollywood Sign Stunt
LOS ANGELES – Actress Sydney Sweeney is under scrutiny for climbing the iconic Hollywood sign and hanging dozens of bras from it, which could result in potential legal consequences.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that Sweeney carried out the stunt as part of a promotional effort for her new lingerie line, Syrn. Video footage released on Monday shows the actress ascending the landmark, reportedly without official permission.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is currently investigating the incident and may file a police report, citing possible charges of trespassing or vandalism. According to the chamber’s CEO, Steve Nissen, Sweeney did obtain a filming permit from FilmLA, but she lacked authorization to touch or scale the sign itself.
"The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce owns the intellectual property rights to the image of the Hollywood Sign, so anyone intending to use and/or access it for commercial purposes must obtain a license or permission from the Hollywood Chamber," Nissen stated. He emphasized that no such licensing agreement was in place for Sweeney’s project.
The bra-clad stunt has raised eyebrows not only for its intent but also for the implications of unauthorized activity on such a prominent landmark. Sweeney shared a video on her Instagram, showcasing her and her production team navigating the area as they prepared for the promotional display.
