Burbank Police Shoot Suspect During Firearm Theft Investigation
A man is in critical condition after being shot by Burbank police during a confrontation related to a firearm theft on Tuesday afternoon. The incident unfolded just before 1:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of West Magnolia Boulevard.
Police responded to reports of a firearm theft at a local business where the suspect was allegedly armed and fleeing the scene upon their arrival. “During the encounter, the suspect’s actions precipitated an officer-involved shooting,” the police department stated.
The injured man was quickly transported to a hospital for treatment. His identity has not yet been released. Fortunately, no officers sustained injuries during the incident.
In the wake of the shooting, nearby streets were closed off to facilitate the investigation.
