Thursday’s Semifinal Results
In the Southern California Regional high school soccer tournament, semifinals took place Thursday, showcasing fierce competition across five divisions.
Boys Division I
Top-seeded Mater Dei edged out fourth-seeded El Camino Real with a score of 2-1. In another intense match, Del Norte and Orange Lutheran ended their game in a scoreless draw, with Del Norte securing victory in a shootout, winning 4-1.
Boys Division II
Fourth-seeded San Pascual claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over eighth-seeded Sultana, while second-seeded Mira Monte triumphed over third-seeded Fontana with a score of 2-1.
Boys Division III
Top seed Bishop Amat achieved a decisive 3-1 win against fourth-seeded Palisades. Sixth-seeded Los Alamitos also emerged victorious, defeating seventh-seeded Mt. Carmel 2-0.
Boys Division IV
Irvine University advanced to the finals following a forfeit victory over fifth-seeded Chatsworth. In another match, second-seeded Granite Hills secured a close win with a 2-1 score against sixth-seeded Santa Ana Valley.
Boys Division V
In an upset, fifth-seeded Kern County Taft defeated top-seeded Ontario Christian 2-1. Third-seeded Garfield maintained their momentum with a solid 3-0 victory over seventh-seeded San Diego Lincoln.
Girls Division I
Top-seeded Santa Margarita dominated fourth-seeded Cleveland, winning 3-0. Second-seeded Mater Dei also progressed, defeating sixth-seeded Oaks Christian 2-0.
Girls Division II
Eighth-seeded Westview pulled off a strong performance against fifth-seeded Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, winning 2-0. Meanwhile, second-seeded Westlake edged past third-seeded Garces Memorial with a score of 1-0.
Girls Division III
In a surprising twist, fourth-seeded Quartz Hill narrowly defeated top-seeded Del Norte 1-0, while second-seeded Millikan and third-seeded Ayala ended their match in a draw. Millikan ultimately triumphed in a shootout, securing a 4-1 victory.
Girls Division IV
Fifth-seeded Coachella Valley had a commanding 4-1 win over eighth-seeded Segerstrom, and third-seeded San Jacinto triumphed 3-2 against seventh-seeded Del Sol.
Girls Division V
Eighth-seeded Coastal Academy shocked fifth-seeded Bravo with a decisive 3-0 victory, while third-seeded Delano Kennedy secured a hard-fought 1-0 win against second-seeded Santa Monica Pacifica Christian.
