Sinners Tops 2026 BAFTA Nominations While Wicked: For Good Skips Acting Categories

2026 BAFTA Nominations Announced

The nominations for the 2026 BAFTA Awards were unveiled on January 27, showcasing a diverse array of films. Highlighted among this year’s contenders are notable works such as One Battle After Another, Sinners, and Marty Supreme.

This year’s nominees reflect a competitive landscape, featuring many films also recognized at the upcoming Academy Awards and The Actor Awards. Leading the nominations are One Battle After Another with 14 nods and Sinners closely following with 13. Both Hamnet and Marty Supreme received 11 nominations each. All four films have also been nominated for Best Picture at the 98th Academy Awards.

Significant omissions this year include Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo for Wicked: For Good, who missed out on both BAFTA and Oscar nominations for their roles in the sequel to 2025’s Wicked. Additionally, Amy Madigan, the star of Weapons, who recently won a Critics’ Choice Award, was not included in the Supporting Actress category.

The awards ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, February 22, at the Royal Festival Hall in London, and will be hosted by Alan Cumming.
