Shioli Kutsuna Cast in Upcoming Netflix and Legendary ‘Gundam’ Movie
A live-action film adaptation of the popular Gundam franchise is in development, co-produced by Legendary and Bandai Namco Filmworks. The project will be directed by Jim Mickle, who is also the screenwriter. Mickle will produce the film alongside his partner Linda Moran through their production company Nightshade, in collaboration with actor Noah Centineo and his partner Enzo Marc. Netflix’s acquisition of the film was first reported in January.
The Gundam franchise, which began with the anime series Mobile Suit Gundam in 1979, has been a trailblazer in the sci-fi subgenre known as “mecha,” featuring giant fighting robots. Created by Yoshiyuki Tomino, the franchise continues to thrive, generating over $600 million annually.
