Sheryl Crow Urges Action on Epstein Files, Asking for Accountability from President Trump: Standing Up for Children Matters
Singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow is adding her voice to the growing chorus calling for accountability for President Donald Trump amid revelations from recently disclosed Justice Department documents. These documents, encompassing 3 million pages, outline communications involving convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his associates.
In an Instagram Story, Crow stated, “Those named in the Epstein files in other countries are going down hard for it. Not in America.” She expressed her concerns about the lack of accountability for high-profile figures, questioning, “Who are we if we do not stand up for children who are knowingly being [peddled] to rich leaders all over the world? Trump needs to be impeached and imprisoned along with every other person … Democrat, Republican, American or foreign who knew this was going on and never said anything.”
Billboard has reached out to the White House for a response regarding these statements.
Trump has denied any involvement with Epstein, and Department of Justice Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche indicated on Sunday that there is insufficient cause to pursue further investigation into the president’s conduct. Despite this, documents reveal that Trump, first lady Melania Trump, and their Mar-a-Lago estate were mentioned numerous times, with reports indicating at least 38,000 references, as noted by The New York Times.
Musician Jack White has also criticized Trump following the release of the Epstein files. In a recent Instagram post, he urged, “Indict this man. Jail this man. This longtime friend of pedophile Epstein, who appears 40 thousand times in the files.” His remarks were in response to Trump’s posting of a deleted video depicting Michelle and Barack Obama in a derogatory manner.
Both Crow and White have been outspoken critics of the Trump administration. Last July, Crow released a protest song titled “The New Normal,” where she questioned the current political climate, asking, “Is it science fiction or prediction wrapped in George Orwell? If the news is fake and fear is hate and nothing’s immoral to the leader of the free world, then welcome to the new normal.”
