Several Arrests in Downtown LA Following Anti-ICE Protest Involving Sex Toys
Los Angeles, CA – A demonstration against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) turned chaotic in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday, April 11, resulting in multiple arrests. Organizers reported that between 200 and 300 protesters gathered outside the Metropolitan Detention Center as part of a nationwide anti-ICE campaign.
The protest, characterized by its provocative theme—"f— ICE"—involved participants displaying sex toys, which they waved and used to strike against the facility’s fencing. Some demonstrators also threw these items at police vehicles, as evidenced by video footage from the scene.
By 2 p.m., the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) declared the assembly an unlawful gathering after attendees blocked traffic. In the ensuing confrontation, authorities arrested at least six individuals who refused to disperse.
As a result of the protests, Alameda Street between Aliso and Temple streets, along with Commercial Street between the 101 Freeway ramps and Alameda Street, were temporarily closed. These streets reopened shortly after 4 p.m.
Authorities have not yet released the names of those arrested during the protest. The incident has drawn attention to ongoing tensions surrounding immigration policies and enforcement actions in the area.
