Security Gates Set Up on Downtown LA 101 Freeway Ramps
Security Measures in Place Ahead of Weekend Protests in Downtown Los Angeles
Metal security gates have been erected on several freeway ramps in downtown Los Angeles in anticipation of protests scheduled for this weekend. The heavy-duty gates have been installed specifically on ramps leading to the 101 Freeway.
This action comes as demonstrators prepare for the "No Kings" protests, with activities planned for Saturday at Gloria Molina Grand Park, situated across from Los Angeles City Hall. The event is part of a national day of nonviolent action, which aims to see simultaneous demonstrations across more than 3,000 communities, supported locally by over 30 organizations.
Previous protests have resulted in traffic disruptions on downtown freeways, such as a significant incident in June. Authorities, including Caltrans, have been contacted for further details regarding the security measures.
As the weekend approaches, officials remain vigilant, preparing for the potential impact of the upcoming demonstrations.
