Jillian Lauren-Shriner has officially filed for divorce from Scott Shriner, the bassist of the rock band Wheezer, after nearly two decades of marriage. The couple, who wed in Hawaii in November 2005, share two sons: Jovanni Starshine, 13, and Tariku Moon, 17.
According to the legal documents obtained, Lauren-Shriner, 52, cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce, without specifying a date of separation. She is requesting joint legal and physical custody of their children.
In addition to custody arrangements, Lauren-Shriner has asked the court for spousal support while seeking to terminate any potential spousal support obligations for Shriner. Furthermore, she seeks to restore her maiden name and has requested that Shriner, 60, cover her attorney fees.

This filing comes in the wake of significant personal challenge for Lauren-Shriner, who announced her breast cancer diagnosis in March. Following this revelation, she underwent two back-to-back surgeries, including a full hysterectomy.
On April 8, a police incident also marred the couple’s recent history; Lauren-Shriner was shot by police during a confrontation in their Los Angeles neighborhood. Authorities were involved in a manhunt for suspects of a hit-and-run when she found herself in a precarious situation. Although unconnected to the crime, she discharged her weapon at officers who instructed her to disarm, leading to her being shot once in the shoulder.

Following the shooting, she was arrested on an attempted murder charge and later released on a $1 million bond. She faced additional charges of assault and negligent discharge of a firearm and was granted a diversion program due to mental health issues, as detailed in court documents.
