High School Sports Update: Baseball and Softball Scores
In a series of exciting matchups, local high school baseball teams delivered standout performances. In the City Section, Bell dominated Granada Hills Kennedy with an impressive 11-0 victory. Chavez secured a 10-3 win over Sun Valley Magnet, while San Pedro edged out Verdugo Hills with a score of 15-8. Sylmar narrowly triumphed over LA Roosevelt, finishing 3-2.
Within the Southern Section, Aliso Niguel defeated Citrus Valley 2-0, and Aquinas emerged victorious against Oaks Christian with an 8-4 score. Baldwin Park narrowly beat Edgewood, finishing 6-5, while Barstow triumphed over Apple Valley, winning 7-4. Bosco Tech marked a strong performance with a 10-2 victory over Mountain View.
In other notable Southern Section games, Carter overwhelmed Norte Vista with a decisive 16-2 win, and Cerritos Valley Christian outscored Campbell Hall 15-7. Fontana and Silverado engaged in a nail-biter, with Fontana winning 15-14.
The intersectional games featured El Rancho defeating South Gate 8-4 and Gardena overcoming Environmental Charter 11-7. LA University handily took down Animo Leadership 15-2.
On the softball diamond, Birmingham showcased their skill by defeating Granada Hills Kennedy 4-2 in the City Section.
In Southern Section softball action, Anaheim Canyon dominated Saugus with a 12-2 victory, while Arcadia achieved a striking 15-0 win against Montebello. Artesia impressed with a 14-1 win over Ocean View and followed with another strong 14-3 performance against Avalon.
Multiple teams showed resilience, with Downey edging out Capistrano Valley 5-0 and El Segundo overcoming Rosary Academy 8-5.
