Sarah Pidgeon May Join Kevin Costner and Jake Gyllenhaal in Amazon’s ‘Honeymoon With Harry’
Sarah Pidgeon in Talks for New Film Role Alongside Costner and Gyllenhaal
Amid the exciting premiere of Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette, actress Sarah Pidgeon is reportedly in negotiations to star in Honeymoon with Harry, a new dramedy from Amazon MGM Studios. The film, directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, features acclaimed actors Kevin Costner and Jake Gyllenhaal.
While details regarding Pidgeon’s specific role remain under wraps, Honeymoon with Harry is based on Bart Baker’s book. The storyline revolves around a rough-around-the-edges man, played by Gyllenhaal, who embarks on an unplanned journey with his fiancée’s overprotective father, portrayed by Costner. Set against the backdrop of an island honeymoon, the two characters engage in conflicts and eventually forge an unexpected connection.
Should the deal be finalized, Pidgeon is expected to take on the role of the fiancée.
The screenplay for Honeymoon with Harry is penned by Dan Fogelman, who is also among the producers, alongside Mike Karz from Gulfstream Pictures and Jennifer Salke from Sullivan Street Productions. This film marks Salke’s first collaboration with Amazon MGM following her previous role as head of the studio and her initial producing project. Salke and Fogelman have previously worked together on the acclaimed series This Is Us during her tenure at NBC Entertainment.
The film will also reunite Karz and Gulfstream Pictures with Amazon MGM Studios, following their joint efforts on the romantic comedy Upgraded and the racing film One Fast Move. Additionally, they are collaborating on the upcoming rom-com Goodbye Girl, featuring Kiernan Shipka and Cole Sprouse.
In Love Story, Pidgeon portrays Carolyn Bessette opposite Paul Anthony Kelly as John F. Kennedy Jr. The series has achieved significant success, becoming the most-watched limited series on both Hulu and Disney+, with over 25 million hours viewed across its first five episodes. Pidgeon also secured a role in Paul Schrader’s upcoming erotic thriller Non Compos Mentis, alongside Liam Hemsworth, Caleb Landry Jones, and Dianne Wiest.
Pidgeon previously received a Tony nomination for her performance in David Adjmi’s play Stereophonic, which marked her Broadway debut. She is represented by Gersh, Anonymous Content, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
