Innocent Victim Killed in San Clemente U-Haul Collision
SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. – A tragic accident occurred Monday morning when an innocent person lost their life after a stolen U-Haul crashed into another vehicle while fleeing from deputies in San Clemente.
The incident began shortly before 8 a.m. when deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department attempted to pull over a U-Haul reported stolen. The driver refused to stop, sparking a brief chase that culminated in a collision at the intersection of South Ola Vista and Avenida Granada.
One passenger in the struck vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The remaining occupants were swiftly transported to a local hospital, although details regarding their conditions have not been made public.
Following the crash, both the driver and a passenger from the U-Haul fled on foot. Authorities quickly apprehended two individuals matching their descriptions.
As the investigation continues, officials have yet to disclose the identities of the deceased victim or the suspects in custody. Additionally, specific charges against the suspects remain undetermined at this time.
