Saladin Patterson Extends Partnership with 20th Television and 20th TV Animation for ‘King of the Hill’
Saladin Patterson Renews Overall Deal with 20th Television
Saladin Patterson has officially renewed his overall deal with 20th Television and 20th Television Animation, affirming his continued leadership in the television industry.
Under the terms of the new agreement, Patterson will maintain his role as executive producer and showrunner for the Hulu revival of King of the Hill, a project he co-developed alongside the original series’ creators, Mike Judge and Greg Daniels.
In addition to his work on King of the Hill, Patterson will further develop, write, and executive produce original live-action and animated series aimed at both linear networks and streaming platforms, particularly focusing on Disney Entertainment Television channels. He currently has multiple projects in progress within the Disney ecosystem.
The revival of King of the Hill, which returned for its 14th season on Hulu in August, has already made waves. The new episodes secured the No. 2 spot on Nielsen’s overall Top 10 streaming chart for their opening week, trailing only behind Netflix’s Wednesday. During this period, the series garnered 1.21 billion minutes of streaming time in the U.S., with the 10 new episodes contributing to 77% of that total. The season has also received high acclaim, boasting a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Since becoming available on Hulu in November 2018, King of the Hill has achieved over 1 billion hours of streaming globally across Hulu and Disney+.
Looking ahead, Season 15 of King of the Hill is slated to premiere on Hulu and Disney+ in 2026. The animated series has already been renewed for Seasons 16 and 17, each containing 10 episodes.
Patterson has been with 20th Television since 2019, having created, executive produced, and showrun the studio’s reboot of The Wonder Years for ABC. He is also a consulting producer on ABC’s comedy Shifting Gears. His extensive résumé includes prominent roles in Dave on FX and The Last O.G. on TBS, as well as work on The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, Psych, Frasier, and The Bernie Mac Show. He is represented by CAA and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
