Sabrina Carpenter Shines on the Met Gala 2026 Red Carpet in a Stunning Film-Inspired Look
At the 2026 Met Gala, Sabrina Carpenter made a striking impression on the red carpet in a custom Dior gown crafted entirely from film strips. The musician and actress embraced the event’s “Costume Art” theme and the evening’s dress code of “Fashion is Art,” adorning herself in a high-neck halter gown that showcased scenes from the classic 1954 film “Sabrina,” starring Audrey Hepburn.
Carpenter’s outfit was completed with a shimmering tulle train and a thigh-high slit. She accentuated her look with a jeweled headpiece, which featured the film’s title card surrounded by diamonds, along with sky-high Louboutin heels.
In an interview with Vogue, Carpenter mentioned that “Sabrina” stands out as one of her favorite films, connecting her choice of attire to her admiration for Hepburn’s character. This year’s Met Gala held special significance for Carpenter as she served on the host committee alongside celebrities like Zoë Kravitz and Doja Cat, with Beyoncé and Nicole Kidman taking on co-hosting roles.
Although she missed the 2023 gala, Carpenter has made appearances at the event since 2022. Her ensemble for last year celebrated Black fashion by featuring a tailored bodysuit and tuxedo jacket from Louis Vuitton, eschewing pants entirely.
Carpenter’s fashion journey continues to evolve as she previously embraced a more whimsical style at the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” event in 2024, where she wore a striking black bustier gown with an oversized Cinderella-blue train by Oscar de la Renta.
Carpenter’s previous red carpet appearance occurred at the Grammys, where she sported a blush pink gown from Valentino, showcasing her flair for fashion. Most recently, she turned heads at Coachella with a series of custom Dior pieces while performing on stage.
