Rolling Hills Prep Defeats Arcadia in Semifinals of Classic at Damien
In a decisive match, Rolling Hills Prep secured a 50-37 victory against Arcadia on Monday, marking only the second defeat for Arcadia this season during the semifinals of the Gold Division at the Classic at Damien.
From the outset, Rolling Hills Prep (13-2) demonstrated its strength, bolstered by aggressive offensive rebounding. The team capitalized on early momentum, leading by as much as 25-8 midway through the second quarter. The addition of point guard Carter Fulton, a transfer who recently became eligible, appears to have revitalized the squad; he contributed 10 points to the team’s success.
Kawika Suter was a standout performer for the Huskies, amassing 22 points and 16 rebounds, while Nick Welch Jr. added 16 points alongside 11 rebounds. Meanwhile, Arcadia’s record now stands at 11-2.
With this win, Rolling Hills Prep will face the winner of the Folsom versus Henderson (Nev.) Liberty matchup in the finals scheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
