- Madonna and Guy Ritchie joined forces in London to support their son Rocco, 25, at his art exhibition.
- Rocco expressed he was “proud” to have “both of my parents together in one room supporting me.”
- This gathering comes a decade after the former couple’s custody battle over Rocco.
Madonna and her ex-husband Guy Ritchie reunited for a supportive occasion: their son Rocco Ritchie’s burgeoning art career. Rocco hosted an art exhibition in London on December 12, where both parents showed their support, as captured in a family photo Rocco shared on Instagram.
In the photo, Rocco stood smiling between his parents, Madonna, 67, and Ritchie, 57, in front of two of his portrait paintings. In his caption, he conveyed gratitude for their presence at the event.
“It’s obvious why some people might hold judgment against me, I don’t blame them,” Rocco wrote on December 15. “However, I am proud to be who I am, but I’m even prouder to have both of my parents together in one room supporting me. The work should speak for itself; that’s why the show was called ‘Talk Is Cheap.’”
The connection between the “Material Girl” singer and the British director dates back to their marriage from 2000 to 2008. Their recent outing marks a rare joint appearance since their separation.

In a September appearance on the podcast *On Purpose* with Jay Shetty, Madonna reflected on the “painful” custody battle she and Ritchie faced in 2015 concerning Rocco’s living situation at the time. “Even though my marriage didn’t work out, I mean, a lot of people’s marriages don’t work out,” she stated. “They marry the wrong people, they’re not aligned, they’re not meant for each other. Someone trying to take my child away from me was like… they might as well just kill me. That’s really how I was thinking.”
Madonna has consistently supported Rocco’s artistic pursuits, attending a previous exhibition he held in Miami in April 2024. “So happy to have the night off to enjoy my son Rocco’s latest collection of paintings called ‘Pack A Punch’ inspired by Muay Thai fighters,” she wrote on Instagram. “So Proud! ♥️♥️♥️.”
In a recent interview, Rocco detailed his lifelong passion for painting, attributing it to his creatively stimulating upbringing. “I’ve been painting since I was a kid… my mum didn’t really give us the choice, which I’m so grateful for now,” he shared. “She made us try all the creative paths.”
Rocco also revealed that Madonna often shares stories about legendary artists, enhancing his understanding of the art world. At his London exhibition, he showcased a portrait of his 13-year-old twin sisters, Stella and Estere, whom Madonna adopted in 2017. He humorously noted on Instagram that “sisters were not very impressed with [their] portrait 😂❤️.”
Madonna’s longtime friend Debi Mazar congratulated Rocco on his achievement, commenting on the photo he shared with his parents: “Boom 💥 Congratulations 💋.”
