Robert Irwin Announces New Venture Following Dancing with the Stars Win
In an Instagram video posted on December 2, Robert Irwin shared details about an upcoming project at the Australia Zoo, following his recent victory on Dancing with the Stars.
The 22-year-old wildlife conservationist expressed excitement about returning to the Crocodile Hunter Lodge, which opened in 2022. "It has been quite the passion project that we’ve been working on," he stated during the video, accompanied by visuals of the lodge. Irwin emphasized that the project aims to provide visitors with a warm welcome: "a way to really properly welcome everyone to our home."
Irwin conveyed his gratitude for the support he has received from audiences in the U.S., noting how encouraging it has been to see an increase in visitors to the Australia Zoo. "Honestly, we wanted to create something so that everybody could have a proper home away from home when you visit us," he added.
The Crocodile Hunter Lodge, situated within the Australia Zoo, allows guests to experience scenic views of bushland and local wildlife. The development of the lodge honors the legacy of Steve Irwin and his dedication to animal conservation.
Terri Irwin revealed in a previous interview that Steve had envisioned guest accommodations to help visitors engage closely with Australian wildlife.

The lodge features rustic cabins, lush gardens, an outdoor dining area, and an infinity pool, all integrated within a multi-species habitat. Guests will enjoy unlimited access to the Australia Zoo and complimentary breakfast during their stay.
Notably, the lodge emphasizes sustainability, utilizing recycled materials in its construction to continue Steve Irwin’s global conservation mission.
“You’re fully immersing yourself, here at the lodge, with everything that the zoo is about,” Irwin stated in his video. “Not only having a one-on-one experience with wildlife but also giving back to wildlife conservation. At the end of the day, that’s what we’re all about.”
Irwin concluded his announcement on a hopeful note, inviting viewers to visit the lodge soon.
