The couple has a long-standing relationship, having been married for nearly 40 years. They first met on the set of the sitcom Bosom Buddies in 1981, starting as friends while Hanks was still married to his first wife, Samantha Lewes. After Hanks and Lewes separated in 1985 and finalized their divorce, Wilson and Hanks began dating, making their red carpet debut in 1986 before tying the knot in 1988. They are proud parents to two sons, Chet and Truman.
In a past interview, Wilson shared insights into the key to their enduring marriage, emphasizing the importance of growth, communication, and remaining engaged with one another. "You have to allow each other to evolve and grow; you need communication and curiosity," she remarked.
