Rihanna and A$AP Rocky made a striking appearance together at the 2025 Gotham Awards, showcasing their glamorous styles on the red carpet.

Rihanna, 37, wore an elegant drop waist gown designed by Balenciaga’s Pierpaolo Piccioli, characterized by an impressive train. She complemented her look with a matching feather cap, stylish black leather gloves, and a stunning bejeweled purple necklace.

A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, also 37, opted for a sophisticated black Chanel suit, adorned with black leather boots, a crisp white dress shirt, and a black-and-white striped tie. His ensemble was further enhanced with diamond-encrusted earrings.

The rapper and former Met Gala co-chair received recognition at the awards, being nominated for Breakthrough Performer for his role in Spike Lee’s Highest 2 Lowest. In a July appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Lee remarked, “Yeah, don’t sleep on A$AP. In this film, Denzel [Washington] and A$AP go toe-to-toe.”

“What’s interesting is, even before I got involved with this film, I always thought that A$AP looked like he could be Denzel’s son," Lee noted. "There’s a big resemblance. So when you see it on the screen, it adds an element of father and son."

Lee also acknowledged the pressure other actors face when working alongside Washington, but praised A$AP for holding his own. "Don’t sleep on A$AP," he emphasized. "I’ve done five films with Denzel, and a lot of times when he’s in a scene with somebody, they just get overwhelmed. He’s one of the greatest living actors today, but A$AP wasn’t having that. Toe-to-toe, I mean, they were going at it.”

Ultimately, Abou Sangaré won the award for Best Breakthrough Performer for his work in Souleymane’s Story.

Prior to the awards show, Rihanna offered fans an intimate look into her family life, sharing photos celebrating Barbados Independence Day. The post, published on November 30, featured images of her children, including baby daughter Rocki and sons RZA, 3, and Riot, 2.

“Congratulations to Barbados, MY HOME, on our 59th year of Independence and our 4th year as a Republic!” Rihanna expressed, while also acknowledging Barbados’ president, Jeffrey Bostic, and Prime Minister Mia Mottley. “Barbados I L🇧🇧VE YOU!!!!” she added.

The heartfelt post included personal moments, such as RZA sitting on her lap and a throwback image of Rihanna with A$AP and RZA while she was pregnant.
