Richard Gere Joins Cast of Apple TV’s "The Off Weeks"
Actor Richard Gere has been confirmed to join the cast of The Off Weeks, an eight-episode limited series on Apple TV. The series stars and is executive produced by Jessica Chastain and Ben Stiller, with direction by Michael Showalter and showrunning by Alissa Nutting.
In The Off Weeks, Stiller portrays Gus Adler, a writing professor whose life spirals into chaos following a divorce. As he navigates custody of his children during “on weeks,” he finds himself entangled in a dangerous romance with Stella West, played by Chastain. The complexities of their relationship create a tumultuous clash between his parental responsibilities and personal desires.
Gere will take on the role of Jonathan alongside a cast that also includes Arian Moayed and Annaleigh Ashford.
Nutting collaborates with Stiller and John Lesher for Red Hour, while Chastain and Kelly Carmichael produce for Freckle Films. Showalter and Jordana Mollick represent Semi-Formal Productions, and Paul Lee, along with Gabriel Fisher from wiip, also lend their production expertise. Additionally, Dean Bakopoulos, known for his work on Made for Love, serves as an executive producer.
Currently, Gere stars in the Showtime drama series The Agency: Central Intelligence and is represented by WME and Hirsch Wallerstein.
