Quentin Tarantino’s Debut Play Set to Premiere in London in Early 2027
Quentin Tarantino is set to debut his first play in London, aiming for an early 2027 launch in the West End. The filmmaker, known for his distinctive storytelling, confirmed last summer that he was working on the project, stating, “The play is written. It is absolutely the next thing I’m going to do. We’ll start the ball rolling on it in January… It’s probably going to take up a year and a half to two years of my life.”
According to a report from the UK’s Daily Mail, the play will be an “old-fashioned British farce,” drawing parallels to Michael Frayn’s classic 1980s comedy, Noises Off. Sources suggest that the expected premiere is slated for January 2027, although casting details remain undisclosed. Tarantino will serve as both the writer and director of the production.
In addition to his foray into theater, Tarantino’s scripted work, The Adventures of Cliff Booth, directed by David Fincher, is set to be released on Netflix later this year. Industry insiders speculate that it may be featured at the Venice Film Festival, where Fincher previously debuted The Killer.
In spring 2024, it was revealed that Tarantino had abandoned plans for his final film, titled The Movie Critic. The acclaimed filmmaker has committed to directing ten films throughout his career, and he is still contemplating what will ultimately serve as his concluding project.
Recently, Tarantino has expanded his horizons by taking on a significant acting role in the drama Only What We Carry.
Amidst these developments, circulating reports claimed that the Oscar-winning director was killed in an Iranian missile attack in Israel, where he divides his time with Los Angeles. These assertions remain unverified.
