Prologue Entertainment Welcomes Ken Segna as New Head of Television Development
Prologue Entertainment Expands Leadership with Ken Segna Appointment
Prologue Entertainment, the independent film and television studio known for producing Netflix thrillers like Zero Day and A House of Dynamite, has announced the appointment of Ken Segna as its Head of Television. This newly created position signifies an important step as the company seeks to expand its television development efforts, with an emphasis on establishing a robust slate of series and cultivating creative partnerships.
Founded in 2024 by industry veterans Lloyd Braun, Sarah Bremner, and Noah Oppenheim, Prologue has undergone significant evolution since its inception. Segna will report directly to Bremner and is the studio’s first senior hire, marking a pivotal moment in Prologue’s transformation into a full-service studio.
Prior to this role, Segna served as the Head of Television for Lee Daniels Entertainment, where he managed a development team focused on packaging and selling series under a first-look deal with 20th Television. His credits include projects developed for platforms such as FX, Hulu, Starz, ABC, Disney+, and Onyx. Before that, he was the Executive Vice President of Development at MRC Television, overseeing a range of limited and ongoing series, including The Terminal List, The Shrink Next Door, Poker Face, The Shining Girls, Time Bandits, and Hello Tomorrow!
Throughout his nearly ten-year tenure at Starz, Segna played a crucial role in the development and production of several defining original series, notably Power. He began his career producing music videos, commercials, and the feature documentary Ain’t in It for My Health: A Film About Levon Helm. Segna holds a B.S. in Symbolic Systems from Stanford University and an MFA in Film Production from the University of Southern California.
Segna joins a growing team at Prologue, including Creative Executive Quinn Wilcox and Director of Creative Affairs Sammy Rosenthal. Wilcox previously worked in UCP’s development department, contributing to various projects across the studio’s slate. He has also been involved with ABC’s The Good Doctor during his early career at the production company 3AD.
Rosenthal brings nearly seven years of experience from 51 Entertainment, founded by Oscar- and Emmy-nominated producer Lynette Howell Taylor. While there, she worked on both film and television projects, including contributions to Searchlight Pictures and Fifth Season. Rosenthal initially began her career at UTA.
Prologue Entertainment, backed by Jeff Zucker and RedBird Capital Partners, is focused on building a diverse slate and recently announced first-look agreements for film and series with The Atlantic and best-selling espionage writer David McCloskey.
