Production for Season 2 of ‘Alien: Earth’ May Be on the Horizon, Says Star Sydney Chandler
Production of Alien: Earth is transitioning from Thailand to London’s Pinewood Studios, which has a storied history with the Alien franchise, housing productions such as the original 1979 film, Alien 3, and the prequel Prometheus.
Actress Chandler recently shared that she has yet to see any scripts for Season 2. Buzz surrounding the show’s production has been amplified by an Instagram post from executive producer and director Dana Gonzales, who expressed enthusiasm about embarking on the second season: “Super excited to start the journey of @alienearthfx season 2. World building in the Alien universe birthplace.”
This evening, Chandler—who garnered attention for her role in Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling—is being celebrated at the Texas Film Awards, where she will receive the Rising Star Award and be inducted into the Texas Hall of Fame. Starting her acting career during the COVID-19 pandemic, she also has a film debuting at SXSW next Thursday: the sci-fi comedy Anima, directed by Brian Tetsuro Ivie, which follows a young woman and an elderly man on a road trip to an experimental facility aimed at preserving his consciousness.

In Alien: Earth, Chandler portrays Wendy, the first hybrid and leader of a group known as the “Lost Boys,” comprised of six prototype hybrids created by the Prodigy Corporation from terminally ill children. Originally known as Marcy Hermit before undergoing her transformation, Wendy takes control of Neverland Island in the season finale after instigating a revolt against her creators. She also possesses the ability to communicate with xenomorphs.
Hawley has indicated that there will be no crossover between his Alien: Earth series and the new Predator feature film franchise by Dan Trachtenberg.
