Portrayal of Guilt Announces New Album and North American Tour
The experimental metal band Portrayal of Guilt has revealed details about their upcoming album, …Beginning of the End, set to be released on April 24, 2026, via Run for Cover Records. The band is also planning a Spring 2026 North American tour to promote the album.
The tour is scheduled to commence on May 9 in Austin, Texas, and will conclude with a performance in Atlanta on June 7. Throughout the tour, the band will perform in key cities including New Orleans, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, and New York City. Tickets for select shows can be acquired through Ticketmaster, while others will be available via venue links on the band’s website.
Support for the tour will feature several notable acts, including industrial metal band Street Sects, acclaimed screamo group pageninetynine, heavy shoegaze ensemble Taraneh, the ethereal band Halloween, and gothic rock group The Infinity Ring.
Portrayal of Guilt’s fifth album continues to push the boundaries of experimental black metal and screamo. This time, the band incorporates elements of nu-metal, alternative rock, trip hop, and dark ambient into their distinctive sound. Known for their innovative style, the band retains its spirit of experimentation.
The album’s first two singles, “Ecstasy” and “Human Terror,” showcase this evolution. “Ecstasy” features a hip-hop drum beat layered with a bass and guitar riff reminiscent of early Korn, combined with intense black metal vocals. “Human Terror” similarly reflects avant-garde guitar influences and incorporates a gritty industrial metal groove. The sound of both singles draws parallels to the influential late ’90s work of post-metal band Godflesh.
