Domestic Violence Incident in Corona Leads to Fatalities Involving Police
CORONA, Calif. — A domestic violence response in Corona turned tragic Friday morning when a confrontation between police and a suspect resulted in two deaths.
The incident unfolded shortly before 8 a.m. on March 20, as officers were dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of Stoneybrook Drive to investigate a reported domestic dispute. Upon arrival, they encountered a man armed with a knife. Following a brief interaction, police shot the suspect, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Inside the home, authorities found a woman with multiple stab wounds. Despite immediate medical assistance and transport to a nearby hospital, she succumbed to her injuries.
Authorities have not released the identities of either victim or the details surrounding the events leading up to the confrontation with law enforcement. The specific circumstances concerning the domestic violence incident are currently under investigation.
Local authorities stated that they are not seeking any additional suspects in connection with this case. The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office will oversee the inquiry into the use of force by police, which is standard procedure in officer-involved shootings.
