Police Report DNA Collected From Nancy Guthrie’s Property Is Not Hers
Authorities continue to investigate the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, announcing that DNA evidence collected from her property does not match that of Guthrie or her close contacts. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department shared this update on February 13, revealing that investigators are working to identify the source of the DNA.
A statement from the department indicated, “We are not disclosing where that DNA was located.” In addition to the DNA findings, investigators have recovered several gloves, the nearest of which was found approximately two miles from Guthrie’s home.
The sheriff’s office also addressed inaccuracies regarding the location of the gloves, clarifying that “reports that a glove was found inside the residence or on the property are inaccurate. All collected evidence has been submitted for laboratory analysis.”
Nancy Guthrie, mother of NBC’s Today show host Savannah Guthrie, was last seen on January 30 in Tucson, Arizona, after a family dinner. A 911 call was placed on February 1 when she failed to join friends for a virtual church service.
As of now, law enforcement has not identified any persons of interest or suspects in her disappearance, nor have they ruled out any individuals.

On February 12, the FBI provided a detailed description of a male suspect, estimating him to be around 5’9” to 5’10” tall with an average build. In newly acquired security footage, he was seen carrying a black “Ozark Trail Hiker Pack” backpack. The FBI has received over 13,000 tips from the public regarding Nancy’s case, prompting an increase in their reward for critical information from $50,000 to $100,000.
The FBI Phoenix office announced, “Today, the FBI is increasing its reward up to $100,000 for information leading to the location of Nancy Guthrie and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.” They noted that new identifying details about the suspect emerged from forensic analysis of doorbell camera footage.
In the wake of their mother’s disappearance, Savannah Guthrie, 54, along with her siblings, Annie and Camron, has publicly appealed for assistance in finding Nancy. In a heartfelt video shared on social media, Savannah addressed her mother directly, saying, “Mommy, if you are hearing this, you are a strong woman. You are God’s precious daughter, Nancy. We believe and know that even in this valley, He is with you.” Annie echoed these sentiments, expressing the family’s deep connection and longing for their mother.
