Pedestrian Struck and Killed on 5 Freeway in Anaheim
ANAHEIM, Calif. – A collision on the northbound 5 Freeway early Tuesday morning resulted in the death of a pedestrian. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the incident occurred around 12:45 a.m. near Gene Autry Way.
Emergency responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Officers discovered the individual in the middle lanes of the freeway, where they had been struck by a vehicle. The exact circumstances surrounding why the pedestrian was in the active lanes remain under investigation.
The collision necessitated the closure of the northbound lanes for approximately four hours as authorities processed the scene.
As of now, the identity of the victim, including their name, age, and gender, has not been released. Investigators have yet to determine whether charges will be filed against the driver involved in the incident.
